Easy Healthy Vegan Sweet and Cinnamon Popcorn with Cypressa Foods

We're all guilty of the sweet snacking here and there and is it even a movie night if you haven't got your popcorn as your right hand man? Popcorn is the food we want so bad to be healthy, because it's only corn right? As you're hand scrambles the bottom of the bag and you've only just got past the first two scenes in the film, we all know in the back of our minds- everything in moderation.

This alternative popcorn recipe is something that was concocted with the idea in mind, even though we crave the sweet, can't we at least try to be a little more healthy. The best part of this recipe is that it is absolutely 100% VEGAN!. In this day and age we should all be able to enjoy the the sweet life.

Of course, you don't have to be a vegan to make this popcorn but if you're looking for a way to steer clear from all the processed sugar that is sneakily placed into most of our meals and the foods we buy, this recipe is a great way to enjoy the sweet- sweet taste without the bloating balloon party going on in your tummy afterwards.

With five simple ingredients and 15 minutes of your spare time, its a great choice if you're looking for the best of both worlds in your evening snack!

 

Ingredients

- 60g Cypressa Popping Corn

- 3 tbls Coconut Oil

- 2 tbls Dairy Free Butter (Flora is great)

- 2.5 tbls Date Syrup

- 2 tbls Cinnamon

What You'll Need

- Weighing scales - A medium sized pan with lid

- A small pan

- Large wooden spoon

- Desert spoon

Method:

Place your medium sized pan on the hob at medium heat, pour in 3 tbls of Coconut Oil and let it heat up. Then weigh out your popping corn and place it in the pan, cover with lid and let the corn work its magic. It should only take a couple minutes but turn off the heat once the popping stops.

Place the small pan on the hob at a low heat and drop in the Butter and Date Syrup, stir until melted thoroughly.

Once the syrup is done, pour it over the popcorn and mix until it's covered evenly, sprinkle over the cinnamon- again spreading over the popcorn evenly.

Place the popcorn into a bowl and it's ready for you to enjoy!
